Robin Perkins, better known as El Búho, is a British-born music producer and environmental activist whose unique sound has earned him a distinct place in the global electronic music scene.
Fusing Latin American folk music with dub, cutting-edge electronica and the sounds of nature, El Búho's music evokes lush soundscapes that invite both introspection and movement on the dance floor.
With almost 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, standout tracks like "Mañana Tepotzlan" and his remix of “Cumbia Sobre el Mar” have amassed over 50 million streams. Meanwhile his iconic Boiler Room performance in Tulum captivated a global audience with almost 4 million views.
Over the past decade, El Búho has released six studio albums, including the critically acclaimed Balance (2017), Camino de Flores (2018), Ramas (2020), Natura Sonora (2021), Strata (2023) and his latest Hogar (2026) each praised for their ability to blend organic sounds with deep electronica and transport listeners into immersive sonic worlds.
He has performed globally, including sets at legendary festivals such as Glastonbury, Fusion, Ozora and Rio Loco in Europe, and Lollapalooza Chile, Bahidorá and P’al Norte in Mexico; he’s also played London’s iconic Jazz Café, Apollo in Barcelona and Berghain Kantine in Berlin, as well as an unforgettable performance atop the Eiffel Tower.

Latest album ‘Hogar’ explores what it means to feel at home
Hogar explores his musical influences through the idea of home. More than a physical place, hogar evokes family, belonging, shelter and intimacy. The album grew out of Robin’s experience of building a home with his family, while reflecting on migration, displacement and the climate crisis: what it means to belong somewhere, to leave a home behind, or to create one somewhere new.
Built around found sounds and recordings of home life, travel, landscapes and encounters with friends. Hogar marks a new maturity in El Búho’s sound: an intimate, textured album that combines saturated tape-delayed synth lines with deep bass, traditional rhythms and instrumentation with found sound and nature recordings.
Across songs like Kairos, Nuevos Horizontes, Adios and Que El Viento Lleve Mi Dolor, El Búho works with collaborators including Ana María Vahos, Mafiandina, Plu Con Pla and Chuskupura to explore welcome, return, migration, grief and connection to place.

Beyond his music, El Búho is deeply committed to environmental activism.
His celebrated A Guide to the Birdsong project has raised almost $100,000 for bird conservation efforts in Latin America, earning recognition from NPR, The Guardian, and Billboard. A former Greenpeace campaigner, he has led groundbreaking initiatives, from pushing global brands toward sustainability to raising awareness about endangered species through music.
Now based in Toulouse with his family, Perkins continues to inspire through his unique blend of music and environmental activism.
